Buying A Car

I have been busy looking at cars with my wife, ours gave out. I need something roomy as my wife packs a lot when we go on a trip, but I also want something with style and there is still enough kid in me to want something that reminds me of my 1965 Malibu SS, damn that was a fast car, it was maroon with black leather seats. At night you could see fire coming out of the exhaust going through the gears. The Malibu of today is nothing like its forbears. I looked at the 2010 Camaro but the engine was a 304 6 cylinder, they didn’t have the 400 to contrast, and the trunk is to small for my wife. Then I saw it, the Impala, roomy, stylish and the SS has the power. It cost more then I like but we need a car and at my age it’s now or maybe never. My wife looks good in it so I think we may get it. She wants a black one while I crave to have another SS painted a reddish-maroon color with black leather seats. If you see either one in Salinas with a man driving it, with a look of disbelief on his face, that will be me providing I can beet my wife to the keys.

Oops sorry to push my ideals on you Gordon, I just realized this! Such a dolt, am I!

Speaking of Impala SS, I drove a 63 15 years ago. It's a cute car. I think it's a great idea that you're getting an American car.........before 2016, when they'll look like clown cars/death traps. I have always bought American cars. I have been called racist, but I don't care. Besides, I root for the underdog; not many folks here in Salinas buy American! My parents bought American. I have noticed that my lovely neighbors on both sides who are both German war brides, have bought American.

I am all for your free choice to buy whatever you want, & not blasting anybody's choice who doesn't buy from GM, Chrysler or Ford. You know, after 2016, I will have to buy a German or Japanese car. I won't put my kids in a small new American car. PERIOD. Obama's ruined the American car company, bet he planned it that way.

Done ranting!

Ok, Gordon, I am sorry that your car died. Yet, you're looking for a good car.

May I suggest a Challenger R/T? Some of these V8 models, whether it be GM or the hemis in the Dodges, have this cylinder doohickeys so when you hit the highway, some of the cylinders shut down so you aren't wasting gas. Does the Impala SS have this option?

On my birthday, we hit the Dodge dealership while it was still there & hubby test drove the Challenger. It was great....yet, with all the electronic gadgetry, & the nice new stuff like air conditioning, shoulder belts in the back & better gas mileage, it just didn't feel like the old muscle cars from 35 years back, you know? The roar of the engine, & basically the feel of the car is different from the cars of today. That's just the way it is.Yet, I still WANT one of them new Challengers if I could get one. Would much prefer an old Camaro, Firebird, Nova, TransAm, Challenger, Charger, but there is so hard to find.

On my pages the antiPC cars are mine. I love them! They really stand out....especially the Caddy in the parking lot, heehee.
