Army Tents and Chain Gangs for California Prisoners

Early Release of California Prisoners

This is the most imbecilic idea that I have ever heard, releasing prisoners back onto our streets and neighborhoods. All stages of law enforcement are crying the blues about being undermanned and overworked. Now prisoners are to be released by the thousands which is going to exacerbate the problem.

Is California unique or are those we have put into positions of authority just ignorant?

Are we so far removed from the state of Arizona that we can't learn from them? They never release prisoners early, if there is overcrowding army tents are used like those our sons and daughters use in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. If it is fine for them then it sure is fine enough for prisoners. Does it get hot in the summer, you bet, to bad, the prisoners will have less incentive to come back. Does it get cold, yes, that's what blankets and heaters are made for. Does it cost as much to maintain them in a tent as opposed to a walled prison? Please, get serious.

We can change our laws to accommodate.

Has anyone thought about chain gangs that can be set up and used around the county/state to do cleanup around our roads and ditches and levis or to paint our county bridges? Chain gangs are used in Arizona, why can't they be used here? In fact that detail is considered a privilege. There are chain gangs for women and juveniles as well. There is plenty of work to go around and they can be made to do it. Prison life is not meant to be a picnic, just the opposite in the far extreme.

Tax money being spent for salt, pepper and sugar can be saved, they don't need it. Weight lifting equipment allowing inmates to bulk up and overpower the guards is an unnecessary and stupid expense, if prisoners require exercise they can work, hard work never hurt anyone. If chain gang work details are adequately supervised the only thing they will want at the end of the day is their bunk.

We must change our way of thinking, these are prisoners, not boy or girl scouts, they are there for punishment.

I am stranded living in Commiefornia. We bought a home here nearly two years ago, and lost 100K already. My goal is to move to Montana or Wyoming....where it's still FREE and most of the politicians are fully aware of that.

Bleeding heart liberals are destroying this country. Because of their 'empathy'for thugs, they are unleashing upon us dregs of society and then the libs cry when we arm ourselves and wind up doing the job what the law should have done, you know what I mean!
