Salinas Valley Taxpayers Union

This is the same old song, just a different verse. Measure V had the same old tale of woe. The more gullible among us passed it.
Now Measure K - different verse. People are expected to dig deeper yet again into their thinned out wallets.
It was said this money can’t be touched. Tell that to some one who has now knowledge of government procedure, maybe they will believe you, it’s all a matter of creative bookkeeping, budget line to budget line.
Productive people, those retiring and the retired are leaving the area, not only Salinas but California, taxes are a major burden here.
Why not consider a LONG TERM FIX and CUT TAXES ACROSS THE BOARD. Tax cuts work every time they are tried. The public has more available money at their disposal, the coffers begin to percolate, the government has more available cash, if used responsibly, that can address the problems facing us. But this requires politicians thinking past the collective wallet of the electorate. Fat chance!!
VOTE NO ON K
