September 11th. has passed as the nation continues to grieve for loved ones lost on that horrific day. We can all remember where we were and what we were doing when the news of the first impact hit the television screens, we will never forget.
During this period the President of the United States was George Bush, he was in a classroom when the horrible news first was delivered to him. He had to walk a tightrope as he considered and processed what had just happened, he is on camera, every action detailed for eternity, his every move must be to show leadership and to quell the panic and replace it with stoic determination and resolve.
As a nation previously divided by race and politics we all came together, 9/12/01 was a day of reunification of a great people, a great Republic, a great nation, the greatest in all of history. There was no Democrat, no Republican, no Libertarian, we were one people, Americans.
Over the years we have not been attacked, not because there haven’t been attempts but because of the great jobs performed by our military, FBI and law enforcement across the land. As a result many of us have become complacent and all to many of us have allowed our minds to drift back before 9/11, almost as though it never happened, as if all those terrible deaths never occurred, it was like a movie, watched and placed out of mind. On 9/12/01 there would never have been talk about so-called torture or tough interrogation methods, or how respectful are we going to be to prisoners that we send to Guantanamo. Here are just a few lines from an article in the Huffington Post by Peter Jan Honigsberg, Professor of Law

The Witness to Guantanamo Project: In-Depth Filmed Interviews of Former Guantanamo Detainees
“We are determined to document the systematic human rights abuses and rule of law violations at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.”
Can you believe this, look at the posting date. If this was just one person you could say that maybe he was in a coma and sense awakening his mental capacity has been impaired, if it were one, but there are countless others. I agree with Michael Savage when he says that “liberalism is a mental disorder.” It must be, what other excuse can there be? You see evidence of it on the nightly television news, on the radio, in the newspapers. It is like a creeping disease spreading over the country.
Now on the eighth anniversary of the attacks Obama in his speech at the Pentagon only made a passing reference to the almost 3,000 people who lost their lives back in 2001. He made no reference to the men and women in the military that are fighting America’s enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan. What did he do? He used the opportunity to push his domestic agenda, especially health care, building schools and creating green jobs. What was his main emphasis? His main emphasis was on his wish to have people perform public service. Somehow in Obama’s deranged, unbalanced mind by turning every September 11 into a day to focus on public service or another Earth Day, the victims of the attacks are somehow honored.
Time should not lessen the impact of the events of September 11, 2001, but apparently it has to the current occupant of the Oval Office along with Reid, Pelosi, Murtha, Feinstein, Boxer, Farr and the majority of those in the democratic party including some on the republican side of the aisle. Unfortunately peoples memories seem to be way to short and these politicians keep getting reelected and return to their seats being given yet another chance and a new saw to further their attempts to cut the legs out from under this country while they feast on its benefits. I hope with all my heart that people will once again feel that patriotic spirit and this time hold onto it and vote out every democrat and “rino” in 2010. Replace them, this time with patriotic Americans, there to serve the people, not expecting to be served themselves, as though they were kings, princes and queens and princesses. Remember Reid saying he can always tell when visitors come to the Whitehouse because he can smell them? This is the prevailing attitude, it’s way past time we send these career politicians packing. Farr said he intends to vote “Yes” on the health care bill regardless of what the people want, because, of course, he knows what’s best for us. Who the hell does he think he is? Or any of them? If we sit on our hands and keep our mouths shut and passively watch while they dismantle the greatest nation on the globe, to provide equal misery for all, we will deserve what we get. I wish God would allow the founding fathers to return long enough to take care of things as they new how and put this country back on its original path, as that is not about to happen it is up to us, we were entrusted with this great experiment. It is up to us.
