4th Of July FUN!

It was a great day today wasn't it? Aside from Obama still being president, my family had a great day eating, fighting, & hanging out together.

It was great seeing people put their American flags out & celebrate.

Explaining the meaning of Independence Day to my 6 year old girl was really an interesting experience to her. Her eyes widened as big as saucers as she listened. Now, she is interested in American history & loves to ask her dad a lot of questions on how America came to be.

I also wonder if anyone here in this city cares about the REAL meaning of Independence Day. Do they pause and ponder about our Founding Fathers & the events that led up to this day? Do they realize the privileges we have as American citizens, & the fact that Obama is deviously plotting to erase our rights, while taxing us & penilizing us with his charming smile? I think not; they just feel that the 4th of July is a day to eat, hang out with family & pals then shoot off illegal fireworks at the end of the day. Sad isn't it?

(Here's the thing about my stating fireworks are illegal:here in my town, the city of Salinas has banned any type of fireworks unless it's the ridiculous 'safe & sane' type of fireworks. YET, tonight, my family hung out in our open garage, sitting on my Suburban's tailgate & had a blast watching the fireworks show in the sky. Looks like some citizens blatantly ignored that ban!)

I feel badly when the fireworks were going on, my neighbor didn't get any sleep; she hits the hay at 9! It's half past midnight & it's still going on!
