More Examples of Change

Republicans Object to Stimulus Dollars for ACORN

Republicans say voter registration and community groups like ACORN could be eligible for funding under the Democrats' economic stimulus bill.
FOXNews.com
Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Republican lawmakers are raising concerns that ACORN, the low-income advocacy group under investigation for voter registration fraud, could be eligible for billions in aid from the economic stimulus proposal working its way through the House.

House Republican Leader John Boehner issued a statement over the weekend noting that the stimulus bill wending its way through Congress provides $4.19 billion for "neighborhood stabilization activities."

He said the money was previously limited to state and local governments, but that Democrats now want part of it to be available to non-profit entities. That means groups like ACORN would be eligible for a portion of the funds.

Sen. David Vitter, R-La., told FOX News Tuesday that the money could be seen as "payoff" for groups' political activities in the last election. ACORN generally supports Democratic candidates and actively backed President Obama last year.

But he said the funding is just one example of frivolous spending items in the $825 billion package.

"It's just a long list of spending items. Not a real economic stimulus job creation bill," Vitter said. "It's line after line after line of favorite liberal spending programs, and it amounts to a big government bill -- not a job creation bill."

Obama Does First Formal TV Interview with Al-Arabiya

President Obama Does First Formal TV Interview as President with Al-ArabiyaJanuary 26, 2009 6:29 PM

As special envoy to the Middle East, George Mitchell heads off to the region to begin work on negotiating a cease fire between Israel and the Palestinians, President Obama has sat for his first formal TV interview with the Arabic cable TV network Al-Arabiya, ABC News has learned.

The interview was taped this evening and is set to air at 11 pm ET, as Mitchell is in the air and on his way to the region.

Based in Dubai, Al-Arabiya estimates that it has a potential audience exceeding 23 million in the Gulf region.

All you who cried for change, here's another. Don't you find it just a bit odd that his first formal TV Interview is not with FOX, CNN, etc. but with Al-Arabiya. Doesn’t this make you wonder where his allegiance really lies?

FAIRNESS DOCTRINE

The following is an article concerning the “Fairness Doctrine” that I came across and because it is so news worthy I thought it only prudent to share it.

Remember the slogan “CHANGE” so many were mindlessly chanting? Here is an example of what to expect. The majority of Republicans in Washington appear to be “RINO’s” and seem all to eager to buckle under, they have lost their character, whatever honorable convictions that prompted them to run for office has dissolved away as the shoulder up wanting to be included rather then to stand apart and cry “Not On My Watch!”

I picture B. O. as a runner heading towards a goal post that has in small print “socialism,” small print because he and his cohorts don’t want to seem to blatant about it, while in his rear stands the opposite goal post with giant print depicting the Constitution, The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence. Obama is running at full speed towards his goal and only a few voices are screaming the warning to the people. At some point those that were so eager for change will find themselves sickened by what they see happening and will join with those that have been sounding the alarm; but by then will it be to late?

“Fairness Doctrine”

According to Congressman Mike Pence, and others, the Pelosi-controlled Congress HAS JUST RENEWED ITS ATTACK on Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and others. They're ONCE AGAIN trying to shut down conservative talk-radio by bringing back the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

"Over the past few months, some of the most powerful Democrats in Congress have made their intentions to restore this Depression-era regulation clear. However, bringing back the Fairness Doctrine would amount to government control over political views expressed on the public airwaves. It is dangerous to suggest that the government should be in the business of rationing free speech."

Congressman Pence isn't the only one sounding the alarm.

Senator Jim DeMint says the Left's intention and goal is to silence millions of conservative Americans who disagree with the Left's warped vision for America.

"Democrats want to impose an unfair doctrine that destroys talk radio and silences the voices of millions of Americans who disagree with their vision for America. But the First Amendment of our Constitution guarantees the right of free speech, regardless of political affiliation..."

Senator John Thune tells us that the First Amendment to the United States Constitution is at risk and calls this draconian attempt by Pelosi and other leftists in Congress to impose their version of so-called "fairness" on the American people a "recipe for an Orwellian disaster."

"For over 200 years, the First Amendment has allowed Americans to voice opinions, thoughts and questions of their choosing without the fear of Government reprisal. This guarantee is now threatened by some liberal ideologues who are frustrated with the free flow of ideas on talk radio. ... I advise every American to be hesitant when government officials offer to regulate the media in the name of 'fairness.' ... Simply put, giving power to a few to impose 'fairness' in the media is a recipe for an Orwellian disaster."

And Congressman Greg Walden tells us that some Democrats seem to be INTENT on censoring speech on radio and television!

"The founders would spin in their graves at the thought of the government censoring speech on many of today's radio and television stations. Yet that's just what some Democratic leaders seem to be after. Whether as a throwback to the old Fairness Doctrine or under a less controversial guise, any effort to exert government control over speech on the airwaves is an insult to the principles behind the First Amendment."

To head-off sleazy, squalid schemes by the Pelosi Gang and the Obama Administration to curtail free speech, conservatives in Congress have introduced the Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2009 (S. 34), legislation designed to crush the poisonous head of the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

According to DeMint:

"The bill would prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, which would suppress free speech by requiring the government to monitor political views and decide what constitutes fair political discourse."

Make no mistake, the Pelosi Gang and the Obama Administration will continue their policy of obstruction and try to KILL the Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2009. They want NOTHING to stand in the way of their attempt to control what you and I see and hear on the radio and on television!

That's why we must go on OFFENSE RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW! We must bombard our elected officials with Blast Faxes and force them to explain exactly why they view the First Amendment as a threat!

The Obama Administration can bring back the Fairness Doctrine WITHOUT a vote ever taking place in Congress.

Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi:

"You give president-elect Obama a few months or a few years in office, and pretty soon he will have appointed a majority of the Federal Communications Commission. And my fear is that Commission could re-impose the Fairness Doctrine without ever having a vote in the United States House or Senate."

And what happens if the Obama Administration brings back the Fairness Doctrine?

Bill Ruder, a top official in the Kennedy Administration, told us how the Fairness Doctrine worked in the good old' days when it was simply FCC policy:

"Our massive strategy was to use the Fairness Doctrine to challenge and harass right-wing broadcasters and hope the challenges would be so costly to them that they would be inhibited and decide it was too expensive to continue."

But we're fighting a two-front war because Nancy Pelosi can make "fairness" the law of the land as well... AND LIBERALS IN CONGRESS ARE WORKING TO DO THAT RIGHT NOW!

Vincent R. Caravan, writing in the Valley News, said:

"Senators Diane Feinstein of California and John Kerry of Massachusetts and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter of New York are pushing for passage of a new Fairness Doctrine. Their aim, of course, is to end conservative dominance of the American airways and the Internet."

Either way you slice it, the prognosis is grim.

Brian Anderson editor of the prestigious Manhattan Institute:

"The measure is just a sneaky way of shrinking the hosts like William Bennett and others of his ilk, or even getting them off the air altogether."

Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily.com paints an even uglier picture:

"This legislation will be crafted with one purpose in mind - control. As far as the Democratic Congress is concerned, they have no worries about control of the Big Media. Big Media dance to their Big Government schemes without being provided choreography."

"The new 'Fairness Doctrine' is going to be written in a way that allows the government to mobilize community organizers to do Big Government's dirty work. Groups like Media Matters and ACORN will be named to community oversight boards to police the programming of local radio stations. These groups will not be promoting 'fairness.' They will be promoting their own narrow and extreme political agenda. Anything that deviates from it will generate complaints and letters and calls opposing license renewals."

Edward D. Michalek, of the Baxter Bulletin, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, wrote:

"If you've heard of the so-called 'Fairness Doctrine' on radio, you know there's nothing fair about it. The Fairness Doctrine is nothing more than censorship, pure and simple. ... Americans can make up their own minds about who we want to listen to on the radio and not have censorship of our news."

Does the Pelosi Gang really believe in giving both sides of the political debate voice?

For years, the American people have complained about the leftist bias of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR) - institutions supported by your tax dollars.

Viewers have been bombarded with attacks on orthodox Christianity; fawning, idealized depictions of Mohammad funded by the government of Saudi Arabia and the shameless nightly skewing of contemporary politics.

When decent Americans protested, the Left responded by thumbing its nose at us.

Smut floods our streets and our airwaves like an open sore. When the people complain, we are told that the First Amendment is pristine and should protect even objectionable speech. (We couldn't agree more.)

Okay... So why do liberals NOT apply the same standard to conservative political speech?

The hypocrisy is STAGGERING!

But that's what happens when "fairness" is under left-wing management: Intellectual tyranny... the old double standard... heads we win, tails you lose.

Anything the left agrees with is "fair" by definition. Equal time is NOT required.

Anything decent conservative Americans agree with is "hate-speech" and MUST be countered with opposing views. It's only right.

In some sick way, Pelosi and Obama and leftists will probably tell the American people that they're being "tolerant" by even allowing conservative or religious viewpoints to have ANY airtime at all!

America can't go there!

If this push for government control of political dialogue were an isolated phenomenon, that would be one thing - no more than an odd perversion of American values in a single industry. But suppression of free speech is rapidly becoming the American way.

With few exceptions, major newspapers, magazines and the major television networks are monolithically leftist. They steadily lose money, lay-off employees and go out of business, but they stay the course.

In a shocking majority of our colleges and universities, left-wing slogans and Marxist
Clichés have replaced genuine scholarship in the classroom and on the podium.Outside speakers with a conservative message are either banned by the administration or else drowned out by shouts, shrieks, and catcalls. Some are physically attacked. Conservative students are savaged by their professors and insulted and bullied by administrators.

Back in the old days, it was the Left that took to the streets, demanding the right to teach radical politics in the classroom and demonstrate in support of revolution.

They had their revolution and, like Stalin and Castro, they turned around and immediately repressed all dissent - EXACTLY WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THEY IMPOSE THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE.

Are you ready to let the federal government tell you what you can and can't hear on the radio or read on the Internet?

A New Era

The following are a few items worth thinking about.

Diversity for the sake of diversity is wrong, it must happen naturally. Change for the sake of change is irresponsible and reckless.

With all this talk of reverence, messiah and god being levied on B. O, one would think, if he had any character, if he didn’t in fact believe it himself, he would denounce and condemn such talk as sacrilegious and disrespectful.

What is all this bullcrap about being a citizen of the world? He is supposed to be a citizen and President of the United States; or is he? Now he has, by executive order, ordered the closing of the Guantanamo Bay prison at the U.S. Naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His executive orders will reshape how the United States prosecutes and questions al-Qaida, Taliban or other foreign fighters who pose a threat to Americans. There will be a review of each detainees' case to decide whether they should be returned to their home countries. In other words to release them back into the battlefield, released into our communities, transferred elsewhere or sent to another U.S. prison. Obama's advisers are looking at whether the terror suspects should be tried in federal courts under long-standing military or civilian criminal law. John D. Altenburg Jr., a retired Army general who oversaw the military commissions until November 2006, says Guantanamo should stay open and the tribunals should continue. Trying detainees in federal courts is problematic, he says, because the evidence was collected "on a battlefield" and may be inadmissible outside the commissions, although "it doesn't mean the evidence is tainted."

Have you heard? William Ayers was turned back at the Canadian border, as reported on the news, yesterday. You all remember “Slick Willie” William Ayers, he’s the good buddy of B. O. Canada didn’t want anything to do with him.

What about the comments B. O. made that we are a nation of Christians and Muslims? When did this happen? Didn’t he mean Christians and Jews? This country was founded on Christian/Judaeo ethics, principles, the Ten Commandments, etc. where does this Muslim reference come from?

B. O. is the most far left politician in Washington, he was elected without the slightest thought concerning his experience or what he could possibly do while occupying the chair of the presidency, people listened to the drive by media and flocked to B. O. as though he was indeed their messiah, on the news one woman referred to him as God. These multitudes of people, these mindless sheep fell into lockstep and went as though brain-numbed into the voting booth and voted for an unknown entity. This man was as unknown as the least important sentence in the back pages of a badly written science fiction novel just a few years ago. He is an empty suit sullied by those he has been shouldering up to all his life. Everyone was yelling “Change, Change, Change!” well you are going to get it and are beginning to get it.

I have only heard rumors but they surround the fact that offshore drilling is to be capped. If that is true, or will become so, all those of you crying for change will be crying indeed when you look into your wallets and find nothing but change. If $4.50 a gallon for gasoline was crippling your life get ready to dust off your crutches, high fuel costs affect everything you can think of.

If he nationalizes healthcare, our healthcare system, that people from around the world come to, will be lost and with it a slippery slope will be developed where the other systems of this government will slide into the dustbins of history, as we fall into the open arms of socialism and communism.

Look for the resurgence of the “Fairness Doctrine.” Once implemented it will be a death nail for free speech, talk radio programs will die on the vine. When you see these things begin to happen, be very aware, socialism will be walking down the isle.

Change, I dread the thought of it, I have come to even hate the word, I fear for my country.

Pride In Country

This picture, by “Joe Rosenthal,” depicts pride in country; a million words could not provide a more telling explanation of what it means to have that love, devotion, pride, personal satisfaction, patriotism and pleasure of being an American.

Remember the World War 2 posters that were everywhere? For those not old enough they are easy to find on the Internet.

Remember:

“This Is The Enemy,”

“…Pass the ammunition” The Army Needs More Lumber,”

“Save Freedom Of Speech - Buy War Bonds,”

“Where our men are fighting our food is fighting,”

“1778 - 1943 AMERICANS will always fight for liberty,”

“OURS…to fight for FREEDOM FROM FEAR,”

“OURS…to fight for FREEDOM FROM WANT,”

“the five Sullivan brothers missing in action off the Solomons, THEY DID THEIR
PART, ” “What did you do today for freedom,”

“YOU can’t afford to miss either! BUY BONDS EVERY PAYDAY,”

“To Have and to Hold - WAR BONDS,”

“OER THE RAMPARTS WE WATCH - UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCES,”

“PT 34 - GIVE US LUMBER FOR MORE PT’s,”

“KEEP IT UP BROTHER THIS WAR’S NOT WON BY A DAMN SITE,”

“DO IT RIGHT - MAKE IT BITE,”

“SUB SPOTTED - LET EM HAVE IT,”

“CARELESS TALK got there first,”

“God help me if this is a dud!” His life is in YOUR hands,”

“We have just begun to fight!,”

“MEN OF VALOR - They fight for you,”

“…we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain…REMEMBER
DEC. 7TH,”

“If you tell where he’s going…he may never get there!”

“GIVE IT YOUR BEST!” and

“You buy em we’ll fly em! DEFENSE BONDS, STAMPS.”

Where are the posters of today?

Remember the “USO” entertainers? Thankfully we still have entertainers who are willing to give of their time for our troops; remember all that Bob Hope did and John Wayne back in their day?
Remember the patriotic movies? They did much to tap the patriotic spirit of the American people while they entertained. The movies made during the war, even the classics, emphasized patriotism. Movies like “The Lion Has Wings,” a British film, actually a documentary, made in 1939; “The Long Voyage Home,” made in 1940; “Waterloo Bridge,” made in 1940; “Caught In The Draft,” made in 1941; “Sundown,” made in 1941 concerning the North African campaign; “Underground,” 1941 about the German resistance; “Corregidor,” in 1943; the list goes on, movies about patriotism.

Some of the actors who were enlisted were:
James Doohan (”Scotty” on Star Trek) landed in Normandy with the U. S. Army on D-Day. Doohan was a Canadian citizen.

Donald Pleasance (The Great Escape) really was an R. A. F. pilot who was shot down, held prisoner and tortured by the Germans.

David Niven was a Sandhurst graduate and Lt. Colonel of the British Commandos in Normandy.

James Stewart Entered the Army Air Force as a private and worked his way to the rank of Colonel. During World War II

Clark Gable (Mega-Movie Star when war broke out) Although he was beyond the draft age at the time the U.S. entered WW II, Clark Gable enlisted as a private in the AAF on Aug. 12, 1942 at Los Angeles.

Charlton Heston was an Army Air Corps Sergeant in Kodiak.
Ernest Borgnine was a U. S. Navy Gunners Mate 1935-1945.

Charles Bronson was a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps, more specifically on B-29s in the 20th Air Force out of Guam, Tinian, and Saipan.

George C. Scott was a decorated U. S. Marine. He served as a ceremonial guard at Arlington National Cemetery and taught English literature and radio speaking/writing at the Marine Corps Institute.

Eddie Albert (Green Acres TV) was awarded a Bronze Star for his heroic action as a U. S. Naval officer aiding Marines at the horrific battle on the island of Tarawa in the Pacific Nov. 1943.

Brian Keith served as a U.S. Marine rear gunner in several actions against the Japanese on Rabal in the Pacific and received an Air Medal.

Lee Marvin was a U.S. Marine on Saipan during the Marianas campaign when he was wounded earning the Purple Heart.

John Russell enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1942 where he received a battlefield commission and was wounded and highly decorated for valor at Guadalcanal.

Tyrone Power (an established movie star when Pearl Harbor was bombed) joined the U.S. Marines, was a pilot flying supplies into, and wounded Marines out of, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. And

Audie Murphy; Murphy was the most decorated serviceman of WWII and earned: Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, 2 Silver Star Medals, Legion of Merit, 2 Bronze Star Medals with “V”, 2 Purple Hearts, U.S. Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, 2 Distinguished Unit Emblems, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with One Silver Star, Four Bronze Service Stars (representing nine campaigns) and one Bronze Arrowhead (representing assault landing at Sicily and Southern France) World War II Victory Medal Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar, Expert Badge with Bayonet Bar, French Fourragere in Colors of the Croix de Guerre, French Legion of Honor, Grade of Chevalier, French Croix de Guerre With Silver Star, French Croix de Guerre with Palm, Medal of Liberated France, Belgian Croix de Guerre 1940 Palm.

Now compare that era with what we have today.

The national pride and patriotism we once had is gone. The last president we had that embodied patriotism was President Reagan who also served and held the rank of Captain.

Hours from now we will have a First Lady who professes she has never been proud of this country. A president who openly refused to place his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, a president weaned at the feet of some of the worst this country has to offer spouting “CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE.” How he must be inwardly laughing as he sees the multitudes grovel at his feet and refer to him as messiah.

We have a fine group of personnel in our military that we should all be proud of, but as a nation we have overwhelmingly gone from a era of real Americans to a era of whiners, people with their hand stretched out, palm up, waiting for someone to fill it rather then get off their backsides and work for want they want, to keep fighting for that next step up on the ladder. We have national leaders, elected to office to serve and protect yet our borders are as porous as cheesecloth, our heritage, our national character dissolving away, we have a government intertwining itself deeper and deeper into every aspect of our lives until we can hardly take a step in any direction without the need of first asking; may I? We have fallen deeper and deeper into the waiting arms of socialism, forsaking all that made this country great, the greatest of all time, forsaking our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, the teachings of our forefathers. As one pathetic man put it years ago in a question to the president, we are your children, how will you take care of us?

I’ll close with this ending paragraph from “The Evolution Of A Republic,” by Alexander Tyler;

“From bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to

great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to

abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from

selfishness to complacency, from complacency to

apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency

back to bondage.”

The Inauguration

Personally I hope B. O. fails in his attempts to push this country further into full blown socialism, I do not wish him well. Why should I? Why should any red blooded American who believes in our “Republican Form of Government, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights,” our way of life, wish him well? Why should I look forward to the furtherance of liberalism/socialism? Why should I look forward to this country being pulled further and further into third world status?

I remember over the last two terms of President Bush’s presidency all the democrats, liberals ever did was call him names, disparage him, belittle, laugh at, mock, ridicule, scorn, criticize, denigrate, and rundown everything he did. Not one word of praise, not one word of thanks for insuring we were not attacked again. Sure he made mistakes, but give him some credit, those tax cuts didn’t hurt either.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The total cost of the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States will likely top $150 million.

2005, George W. Bush, est. $40 million

2001, George W. Bush, est. $30 million

1997, Bill Clinton, est. $29 million

1993, Bill Clinton, est. between $25 million and $30 million

1989, George H.W. Bush, est. $30 million

1985, Ronald Reagan, est. $20 million

1981, Ronald Reagan, est. $16.3 million

1977, Jimmy Carter, est. $3.5 million

1973, Richard Nixon, est. $4 million

All this mula and for what? To hire and bring on board a man whose character is deeply shadowed, whose past associates would, under any normal circumstances, preclude his ability to acquire meaningful employment past a fry cook, whose resume consists of an empty folder, who has zero positives associated to his name, a man who can only profess to being a community organizer, whose pre-inauguration is shrouded in controversy, a man who is obviously even afraid to reveal his vaulted birth certificate to settle once and for all, one way or the other, his right to be president, a man who is far left in his thinking, a socialist, whose wife openly states she has never been proud of America, a man resurrecting and surrounding himself with old Clinton appointees; oh yes, what a day to look forward to.

Hamas reviving crucifixion

Here is a story that boggles the mind. Tell me, did I miss the front page, any page, reporting of this in the newspapers? Did anyone see the reporting of this resurrected barbarism in any newspaper? There is little doubt, except for pockets of news outlets, journalism is dead.

Have any pastors, priests or rabbis been discussing this? I think intense interaction and dialog have been replaced with whimpering and denial, refusing to face unpleasant facts.

GLOBAL JIHAD

Crucifixion OK with Mideast politicos

Islamic radicals also endorse cutting off hands, whippings

Posted: December 30, 200811:16 pm Eastern© 2009 WorldNetDaily

The political arm of a radical Islamic group has approved a new law that allows traitors to their government to be crucified, thieves' hands to be chopped off and someone guilty of drinking alcohol to be whipped.

According to a report in the Jewish World Review, Hamas, which was elected to government power in Gaza, over Christmas week adopted penalties included in the Shariah criminal code for the Palestinian Authority.

The report said Hamas endorsed "nailing enemies of Islam to crosses" even as it was renewing its jihad by lobbing missiles at day care centers, schools and travelers in line "to travel to Bethlehem for Christmas."

According to the online military news resource Strategypage, Hamas "believes it is better to be feared than loved" so it instituted the new laws.

"When word of its new laws reached the Western media, Hamas denied it. But in Gaza, the Arabic media made it clear that the new laws were very real, even if embarrassing when trying to explain it to the infidels," the site's commentary said.

"The ancient barbarity of crucification (sic) is brought back to life on the same week as British television broadcasts a 'Christmas message' from the radical Islamic president of Iran," noted the online page for One Jerusalem, a group established to unite people behind the concept of keeping the city away from division.

Right Side News Reports said, "Christians better wake-up as Hamas is bringing back the 'crucifixion' of Christians, Jews and anyone else who does not conform to their ideology."

A participant in the site's forum page said, "Anyone who isn't following the teachings of the Quran is an infidel to them, and according to the Quran they must convert or be killed. So wake up world! That means if you are Jewish, Christian, Gay, Buddhist, Hindu, Atheist, and so on, and you are not Islamic, you are an infidel to them and they must convert or kill you. They don't care if you are an adult, child, or an infant."

Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean

With just a few days left in his presidency President Bush can rectify an unjust error and show how compassionate he is.

Do you all remember the two brave border patrol agents named Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean?

Back in in Feb. 17, 2005, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, an illegal Mexican alien was attempting to bring 750 pounds of marijuana across our southern border with Mexico near Fabens, Texas; Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean interceded and attempted to arrest him. He was fired upon and wounded in a place that made sitting down very uncomfortable for him. As a result, these two agents were rewarded for their public service by trying to keep this marijuana, this filth, from coming into this country and hurting our children by being arrested and ending up in solitary confinement in federal prison, serving 11- and 12-year sentences.

In my opinion these two men should have been thanked, instead they got the shaft; and for what? For doing their jobs and protecting us. President Bush will pardon others but seems unwilling to give one compassionate thought to pardoning these two men who have been unjustly punished.

My wife and I voted for President Bush twice, I will thank him for doing what is necessary to keep this country safe from another carried out attack, but I am ashamed that he is apparently going to leave office without doing the right thing and pardoning these two men, not only pardoning them but restoring the pay they would have received. I would even say to restore them to their jobs, but why would they want to return to positions where they have no backing, where if they do their job they face possible prosecution? What kind of effect does what has happened to Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean have on those other agents out there along the border? Do they do their jobs, or out of self preservation, look the other way. Why would anyone want to work for such an agency? Why won’t our President do the right thing?

Here is a new wrinkle for all you “global warmers.”

Earth on the Brink of an Ice Age

11.01.2009 Source: Pravda Ru

The earth is now on the brink of entering another Ice Age, according to a large and compelling body of evidence from within the field of climate science. Many sources of data which provide our knowledge base of long-term climate change indicate that the warm, twelve thousand year-long Holocene period will rather soon be coming to an end, and then the earth will return to Ice Age conditions for the next 100,000 years.

Ice cores, ocean sediment cores, the geologic record, and studies of ancient plant and animal populations all demonstrate a regular cyclic pattern of Ice Age glacial maximums which each last about 100,000 years, separated by intervening warm interglacial’s, each lasting about 12,000 years.

Most of the long-term climate data collected from various sources also shows a strong correlation with the three astronomical cycles which are together known as the Milankovich cycles. The three Milankovich cycles include the tilt of the earth, which varies over a 41,000 year period; the shape of the earth’s orbit, which changes over a period of 100,000 years; and the Precession of the Equinoxes, also known as the earth’s ‘wobble’, which gradually rotates the direction of the earth’s axis over a period of 26,000 years. According to the Milankovich theory of Ice Age causation, these three astronomical cycles, each of which effects the amount of solar radiation which reaches the earth, act together to produce the cycle of cold Ice Age maximums and warm interglacial’s.

Elements of the astronomical theory of Ice Age causation were first presented by the French mathematician Joseph Adhemar in 1842, it was developed further by the English prodigy Joseph Croll in 1875, and the theory was established in its present form by the Serbian mathematician Milutin Milankovich in the 1920s and 30s. In 1976 the prestigious journal “Science” published a landmark paper by John Imbrie, James Hays, and Nicholas Shackleton entitled “Variations in the Earth's orbit: Pacemaker of the Ice Ages,” which described the correlation which the trio of scientist/authors had found between the climate data obtained from ocean sediment cores and the patterns of the astronomical Milankovich cycles. Since the late 1970s, the Milankovich theory has remained the predominant theory to account for Ice Age causation among climate scientists, and hence the Milankovich theory is always described in textbooks of climatology and in encyclopedia articles about the Ice Ages.

In their 1976 paper Imbrie, Hays, and Shackleton wrote that their own climate forecasts, which were based on sea-sediment cores and the Milankovich cycles, "… must be qualified in two ways. First, they apply only to the natural component of future climatic trends - and not to anthropogenic effects such as those due to the burning of fossil fuels. Second, they describe only the long-term trends, because they are linked to orbital variations with periods of 20,000 years and longer. Climatic oscillations at higher frequencies are not predicted... the results indicate that the long-term trend over the next 20,000 years is towards extensive Northern Hemisphere glaciation and cooler climate."

During the 1970s the famous American astronomer Carl Sagan and other scientists began promoting the theory that ‘greenhouse gasses’ such as carbon dioxide, or CO2, produced by human industries could lead to catastrophic global warming. Since the 1970s the theory of ‘anthropogenic global warming’ (AGW) has gradually become accepted as fact by most of the academic establishment, and their acceptance of AGW has inspired a global movement to encourage governments to make pivotal changes to prevent the worsening of AGW.

The central piece of evidence that is cited in support of the AGW theory is the famous ‘hockey stick’ graph which was presented by Al Gore in his 2006 film “An Inconvenient Truth.” The ‘hockey stick’ graph shows an acute upward spike in global temperatures which began during the 1970s and continued through the winter of 2006/07. However, this warming trend was interrupted when the winter of 2007/8 delivered the deepest snow cover to the Northern Hemisphere since 1966 and the coldest temperatures since 2001. It now appears that the current Northern Hemisphere winter of 2008/09 will probably equal or surpass the winter of 2007/08 for both snow depth and cold temperatures.

The main flaw in the AGW theory is that its proponents focus on evidence from only the past one thousand years at most, while ignoring the evidence from the past million years -- evidence which is essential for a true understanding of climatology. The data from paleoclimatology provides us with an alternative and more credible explanation for the recent global temperature spike, based on the natural cycle of Ice Age maximums and interglacial’s.

In 1999 the British journal “Nature” published the results of data derived from glacial ice cores collected at the Russia ’s Vostok station in Antarctica during the 1990s. The Vostok ice core data includes a record of global atmospheric temperatures, atmospheric CO2 and other greenhouse gases, and airborne particulates starting from 420,000 years ago and continuing through history up to our present time.

The graph of the Vostok ice core data shows that the Ice Age maximums and the warm interglacial’s occur within a regular cyclic pattern, the graph-line of which is similar to the rhythm of a heartbeat on an electrocardiogram tracing. The Vostok data graph also shows that changes in global CO2 levels lag behind global temperature changes by about eight hundred years. What that indicates is that global temperatures precede or cause global CO2 changes, and not the reverse. In other words, increasing atmospheric CO2 is not causing global temperature to rise; instead the natural cyclic increase in global temperature is causing global CO2 to rise.
The reason that global CO2 levels rise and fall in response to the global temperature is because cold water is capable of retaining more CO2 than warm water. That is why carbonated beverages loose their carbonation, or CO2, when stored in a warm environment. We store our carbonated soft drinks, wine, and beer in a cool place to prevent them from loosing their ‘fizz’, which is a feature of their carbonation, or CO2 content. The earth is currently warming as a result of the natural Ice Age cycle, and as the oceans get warmer, they release increasing amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Because the release of CO2 by the warming oceans lags behind the changes in the earth’s temperature, we should expect to see global CO2 levels continue to rise for another eight hundred years after the end of the earth’s current Interglacial warm period. We should already be eight hundred years into the coming Ice Age before global CO2 levels begin to drop in response to the increased chilling of the world’s oceans.

The Vostok ice core data graph reveals that global CO2 levels regularly rose and fell in a direct response to the natural cycle of Ice Age minimums and maximums during the past four hundred and twenty thousand years. Within that natural cycle, about every 110,000 years global temperatures, followed by global CO2 levels, have peaked at approximately the same levels which they are at today.

About 325,000 years ago, at the peak of a warm interglacial, global temperature and CO2 levels were higher than they are today. Today we are again at the peak, and near to the end, of a warm interglacial, and the earth is now due to enter the next Ice Age. If we are lucky, we may have a few years to prepare for it. The Ice Age will return, as it always has, in its regular and natural cycle, with or without any influence from the effects of AGW.

The AGW theory is based on data that is drawn from a ridiculously narrow span of time and it demonstrates a wanton disregard for the ‘big picture’ of long-term climate change. The data from paleoclimatology, including ice cores, sea sediments, geology, paleobotany and zoology, indicate that we are on the verge of entering another Ice Age, and the data also shows that severe and lasting climate change can occur within only a few years. While concern over the dubious threat of Anthropogenic Global Warming continues to distract the attention of people throughout the world, the very real threat of the approaching and inevitable Ice Age, which will render large parts of the Northern Hemisphere uninhabitable, is being foolishly ignored.

Freedom?

Any state that fails to recognize the dignity, the value, the worth of man is an obsolete and oppressive government. A good depiction for this is the following.

"You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future, not a future that will be but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super-states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace.” ..Rod Serling, intro for “The Obsolete Man.”

This is the way nightmares begin.

Where are the second guessers?

The people of this country are being led mindlessly down the yellow brick road by pied pipers and their loyal minions. I fear what lies ahead for this country. Will it remain a Republican form of government, a representative republic? Will we remain a great capitalist country, the greatest, most blessed country in all of history or will we be led mindlessly into the failed systems of socialism and beyond?

What Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev said, "We will bury you," as he pounded his shoe on the podium years ago, is taking place before our very eyes. Our boarders are basically porous, our land is constantly being invaded by people from other countries coming through our southern boarder mixing in with those flooding into our country from Mexico almost totally unabated, our heritage is being dissolved away. Our safety is at enormous risk. The memory of 9/11 seems to have been diminished almost to the point of it having never happened. Where is the outcry? Our politicians are self-serving, our ministers, priests and rabbis say nothing. Our freedoms are being stripped from us one by one, every year we lose more. Every year there are more restrictions imposed. We pay taxes on everything imaginable, we just comply willingly and obey with little or no question like sheep. I remember a war being fought by the colonist over taxes, remember the “Boston Tea Party, December 16, 1773?”

Have you ever just taken the time to reminisce and think back to when we were much younger, to remember all those things we freely did without a second thought, what we use to do naturally, what we took for granted, that we can’t do today? If not please set aside some time to do so; it will take more then a few minutes. Be prepared to be shocked. What we are easily led into today our forefathers would have taken up arms to prevent. While your at it try to remember your parents and grandparents? Would they buckle under and passively allow a bridle to be placed in their mouth turning them this way and that and the things they do and how they do it restricted? They would think they were having a nightmare; their nightmare is our reality. The question is, where is our reality taking us?

“Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of the government. The history of government is a history of resistance. The history of liberty is the history of the limitation of government, not the increase of it." --Woodrow Wilson

The kids today have no idea how few freedoms they have left, how much they have been robbed of and what a slippery slope we are all on. It will take strong minded patriots, with a love of country and a determination to save/restore our way of life for our children. It is our responsibility to educate them and shine the light of truth on what they have lost and are continuing to lose. They will not learn these things in school. They are growing up in a world where they are taught that all these imposed restrictions are for their own good, for their safety, for their sense of well being, so they accept them readily without thought or objection. The imposed rules and regulations that are added annually, without the consent of the people, are burying us one shovel full at a time, as though filling in an open grave by a tombstone that reads “In Loving Memory of The Once Great and Free USA.”

A Poem About A Crabby Old Man

A Poem About A Crabby Old Man

I was sent this and after reading it I couldn’t help but think of those in my past, the crabby, disagreeable old men/women I’ve had interaction with, those wasting away in nursing homes, those I have seen in passing or even those that have come up to me when I was so very busy asking for a handout, always the same jargon, you’ve all heard it. Sometimes I can’t help but give something, other times I am the grumpy old man and just brush them aside. I know, it is impossible to give a hand out to them all, and it’s especially hard when so many act as though that is all they want and not a hand up. Everyone deals with this on an individual level each and every time the situation reveals itself.

I think that this writing is appropriate for any day of the year but especially so during the Christmas season.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? ..What do you see?
What are you thinking.....when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, ...not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .........with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food.......and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice....."I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice ..the things that you do.
And forever is losing ........... A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not...........lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding .... The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse... ...you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am ......... As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .....as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten.......with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .........who love one another.

A young boy of Sixteen ....with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now.........a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty .......my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows......that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now ......... I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide .... and a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty ......... my young now grown fast,
Bound to each other ....... with ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons ...have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me.......to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, ......... babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children ....... my loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me ........... ... my wife is now dead.
I look at the future ...............I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing......young of their own.
And I think of the years....... and the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man........and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age .....look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles..........grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone........where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass ...... a young guy still dwells,
And now and again .......my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys........... I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living.............life over again.

I think of the years ..all too few......gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact........that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people ...........open and see..
Not a crabby old man. Look closer....see........ME!!

Anonymous

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within.....we will all, one day, be there, too!

Bill of Rights Day, December 15, 2008

Another important article left off the front pages. Unfortunately I have come to expect such omissions.

The first 10 Amendments to the Constitution are the Bill of Rights. How many of your children or grandchildren have ever been taught about the Bill of Rights, or the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence? My grandchildren haven’t been taught, God have mercy, they have never even been taught about the Alamo or who the major players were who fought and died there, they have no knowledge of Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, nothing, and they are in junior high. I’ve only digressed to prove a point, the dumbing down of our children is all to evident. The less people know about the “Constitution,” the “Bill of Rights,” the better for those who seek control over their lives.

The Bill of Rights: A Transcription

“The Battle of Chosin Reservoir”

November 26–December 13, 1950
“The Battle of Chosin Reservoir” Part of the Korean War

My brother, a Marine, fought in this battle, his name was "Bernard Swan."

2,500 killed,
192 missing,
5,000 wounded,
7,500 frostbite casualties

The Battle of Chosin Reservoir was a battle in the Korean War, in which 30,000 United Nations (UN) troops (nicknamed the "Frozen Chosin" or "The Chosin Few") under the command of American General Ned Almond faced approximately 120,000 Chinese troops. The name Chosin is the Japanese rendition of the Korean place name Changjin. The name stuck due to the outdated Japanese names on maps used by UN forces.

Shortly after the People’s Republic of China entered the conflict, large numbers of Chinese soldiers swept across the Yalu River, encircling the UN forces in the northeastern part of North Korea at the Chosin Reservoir. A brutal battle in freezing weather followed. Although they inflicted enormous casualties on the Chinese forces, the UN troops were forced to evacuate North Korea after they withdrew from the reservoir to the port of Hungnam.

The battles of the Chosin Campaign, which had a decisive impact on the future course of the war, were fought in the ten day period between November 27 and December 6, 1950. Four different actions were fought:

the successful defense of Hagaru-ri,
the successful defense of Yudam-ni,
the successful effort of the 5th and 7th Marines to break through from Yudam-ni to Hagaru-ri, and
the fight of RCT 31, east of Changjin.

My brother had nightmares till he passed away of the horrific fighting he and those with him had to endure, the endless assaults, the bitter cold, the nonstop fighting to survive in that incredibly freezing campaign.

Not one word of mention have I found to honor those who fought, suffered and died in that horrible ordeal.

We can’t allow things like this to just pass into the dustbin of history and be forgotten. These men gave their all for us, they suffered, they bled, they froze, the least we can do is remember and honor their sacrifice.

Answers Sort To Unresolved Questions

I know, a lot of you may say there he goes again, but I didn't just decide to bring this up, it's in the news and in some newspapers, although not the Californian.

I checked the Internet version of the Californian and, as usual, found nothing that would in any way put the election of B. O. in question, or any investigative reporting by those working for the newspaper willing to dig as deep as it takes to shine the light of truth on all the questions and allegations associated with B. O. Before the election little or nothing was checked into, following the election those on CNN were remarking about how little they really know about B. H. O. The Californian can add their name to the list of those who cared little to ask appropriate questions and demand commonsense proved answers. Is this not the roll of a newspaper and they ponder why their readership is going down?

It is up to all of us to push our elected officials to pursue and have made available everything required to dispel any and all arguments concerning the legitimacy of B. O. in this past election based on Constitutional grounds. Until this is done B. O. will be considered a counterfeit President by half the country and our Constitution of no apparent value, pushed aside by politicians who only aspire to power.

Diary of a Snow Shoveler

I know that some may have seen this before but it holds so much truth that it is hilariously funny. I hope you enjoy it and share some of your experiences.

Diary of a Snow Shoveler...

December 8 - 6:00 PM. It started to snow. The first snow of the season and the wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge soft flakes drift down from heaven. It looked like a Grandma Moses Print. So romantic we felt like newlyweds again. I love snow!

December 9 - We woke to a beautiful blanket of crystal white snow covering every inch of the landscape. What a fantastic sight! Can there be a more lovely place in the Whole World? Moving here was the best idea I've ever had. Shoveled for the first time in years and felt like a boy again. I did both our driveway and the sidewalks. This afternoon the snowplow came along and covered up the sidewalks and closed in the driveway, so I got to shovel again. What a perfect life.

December 12 - The sun has melted all our lovely snow. Such a disappointment. My neighbor tells me not to worry, we'll definitely have a white Christmas. No snow on Christmas would be awful! Bob says we'll have so much snow by the end of winter, that I'll never want to see snow again. l don't think that's possible. Bob is such a nice man, I'm glad he's our neighbor.

December 14 - Snow lovely snow! 8" last night. The temperature dropped to -20. The cold makes everything sparkle so. The wind took my breath away, but I warmed up by shoveling the driveway and sidewalks. This is the life! The snowplow came back this afternoon and buried everything again. I didn't realize I would have to do quite this much shoveling, but I'll certainly get back in shape this way. I wish l wouldn't huff and puff so.

December 15 - 20 inches forecast. Sold my van and bought a 4x4 Blazer. Bought snow tires for the wife's car and 2 extra shovels. Stocked the freezer. The wife wants a wood stove in case the electricity goes out. I think that's silly. We aren't in Alaska, after all.

December 16 - Ice storm this morning. Fell on my butt on the ice in the driveway putting down salt. Hurt like hell. The wife laughed for an hour, Which I think was very cruel.

December 17 - Still way below freezing. Roads are too icy to go anywhere. Electricity was off for 5 hours. I had to pile the blankets on to stay warm. Nothing to do but stare at the wife and try not to irritate her. Guess I should've bought a wood stove, but won't admit it to her. God I hate it when she's right. I can't believe I'm freezing to death in my own living room.

December 20 - Electricity's back on, but had another 14" of the damn stuff last night. More shoveling. Took all day. The damn snowplow came by twice. Tried to find a neighbor kid to shovel, but they said they're too busy playing hockey. I think they're lying. Called the only hardware store around to see about buying a snow blower and they're out. Might have another shipment in March. I think they're lying. Bob says I have to shovel or the city will have it done and bill me. I think he's lying.

December 22 - Bob was right about a white Christmas because 13 more inches of the damn white stuff fell today, and it's so cold it probably won't melt till August. Took me 45 minutes to get all dressed up to go out to shovel and then I had to run to the bathroom. By the time I got undressed, and dressed again. I was too tired to shovel. Tried to hire Bob who has a plow on his truck for the rest of the winter; but he says he's too busy. I think the bum is lying.

December 23 - Only 2" of snow today. And it warmed up to 0*. The wife wanted me to decorate the front of the house this morning. What is she nuts!!! Why didn't she tell me to do that a month ago? She says she did but I think she's lying.

December 24 - 6". Snow packed so hard by snowplow, l broke the shovel. Thought I was having a heart attack. If I ever catch the sob who drives that snow plow I'll drag him through the snow and beat him to death with my broken shovel. I know he hides around the corner and waits for me to finish shoveling and then he comes down the street at a 100 miles an hour and throws snow all over where I've just been! Tonight the wife wanted me to sing Christmas carols with her and open our presents, but I was too busy watching for the damn snowplow.

December 25 - Merry damn Christmas! 20 more inches of the damn slop tonight. Snowed in. The idea of shoveling makes my blood boil, damn I hate the snow! Then the snowplow driver came by asking for a donation and I hit him over the head with my shovel. The wife says I have a bad attitude. I think she’s a freaking idiot. If I have to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" one more time, I'm going to stuff her into the microwave.

December 26 - Still snowed in. Why the hell did I ever move here? It was all HER idea. She's really getting on my nerves.

December 27 - Temperature dropped to -30 and the pipes froze, plumber came after 14 hours of waiting for him, he only charged me $1,400 to replace the pipes.

December 28 - Warmed up to above -20. Still snowed in. She's driving me crazy!!!

December 29 - 10 more inches. Bob says I have to shovel the roof or it could cave in. That's the silliest thing I ever heard. How dumb does he think I am?

December 30 - Roof caved in. I beat up the snow plow driver, he is now suing me for a million dollars, not only for the beating I gave him but also for trying to shove the broken snow shovel where it doesn't belong. The wife went home to her mother. 9" predicted.

December 31 - I set fire to what's left of the house. No more shoveling.

January 8 - Feel so good. I just love those little white pills they keep giving me. Why am I tied to the bed?

Ammunition Accountability Act

Ammunition Accountability Act

I have found four sites on this subject yet I personally have heard nothing on the radio or read anything in the newspapers. Everyone should spend time looking into this. If the gun grabbers aren’t trying a frontal assault on our 2nd. Amendment rights they are trying to take our rights by a rear assault through the back door. Will we ever be rid of them?

Every one needs to see this -- and they want a bail out!

Worried about our auto industry? Watch this!

Assembly Plant In Brazil. Interesting ...This is a video of a new Ford plant in Brazil. One look at this and you will be able to tell why there will probably never be another one built in the USA. It will also point out why more assembly plants will go offshore.

http://info.detnews.com/video/index.cfm?id=1189

and.. pay attention to the last few words. It says a lot!

The plant was built in 2007.

There is a lot of material, take the time to go through it.

Is Reality Beginning To Set In?

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

I wasn’t going to get all riled up over this Holiday but with what is going on in the news, in India and reports of the possible bombing attempts anticipated to be made on the New York subways, I got riled up anyway.

It has been my observation before and sense the election that B. O. is like a kid playing dress up. He has seen the face of reality and like facing the grim reaper it has scared the he** out of him.

I remember when President Bush was in Salinas, I wasn’t more then 20 feet away from him, his hair wasn’t gray, he didn’t look worn, look at him today after eight years, knowing what he knows, seeing what he has seen and doing what he has had to do as Commander in Chief.

In my humble opinion we all owe our thanks to God for President Bush during the perilous times we have faced, and we owe a debt of thanks for his steady hand at the helm preventing any further attacks. Islamic terrorists are out there waiting for a smell of weakness, of fear, of uncertainty, of confusion; they didn’t find it in President Bush. In fact President Bush has taken the fight to the terrorists wherever they are. He has seen to it that terrorist leaders are killed at every opportunity. The terrorists are on the ropes, if the people of this country don’t respect President Bush, believe me, they do.

We are at war people. It’s not just the economy, it’s not just these banks and everyone else lining up for a handout. We are at war. Maybe when Biden said B. O. will be tested within six months, if elected, he was actually warning the people to beware, but at least 53% of the country didn’t heed his warning. You have to give O. credit though, he is sly, he kept Defense Secretary Robert Gates, some are probably wondering why with all the Clinton retreads he has around him, he has possibly finally come to the full, unmasked, realization that we are at war, not words, but a shooting, killing war and Defense Secretary Robert Gates is kicking butt. B. O. has no idea what to do, how could he, he has no résumé, no experience in anything, he has found himself about to be thrown into a pool of hungry sharks, so I’m sure he pleaded with Secretary Gates, maybe with a bit of a whimpering voice, to please, please stay on. It’s one thing to go out and talk to a bunch of suits with their hands out, it’s quite another to face the incredibly stark, unbelievably horror filled realities of what he has found himself right smack dab in the middle of.

Well rehearsed flowery talk said over a teleprompter, as he used during the campaign, will no longer cut it, he is about to be up to bat, he will be facing fast balls coming from every direction, he is far from ready, the most difficult decision he possibly has ever had to make is what suit he will wear on a given day, now because of all you B. H. O. people out there he is about to become Commander in Chief. Are you all as happy and comfortable now that reality has had a chance to set in and your no longer hearing the mantra, “CHANGE?”

Yes the New York subways have been threatened by terrorists, thank you Mr. Biden for your forewarning.

What next?

Happy Thanksgiving. When you gather around your tables today remember our troops away from their families fighting for us all, our country, remember those less fortunate and the homeless and maybe see what you can do to make this a more thankful day for them.

POW/MIA's

I have a subject all of you can get wrapped around; what is it you ask excitedly? POW/MIA’s, specifically for this post, those from Vietnam/Laos.

I was listening to former Congressman John LeBoutillier on the Mark and Jim Show on 1460 AM this morning. LeBoutillier was elected to Congress in 1980, representing New York’s 6th. District. He defeated 16-year incumbent Lester L. Wolff to become the youngest member of the 97th. Congress. He served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and as a member of Special House POW/MIA Task Force.

He reported that in 1974 there were about 1200 pow’s being held by North Vietnam. The United States, reportedly made a deal to give around 5 billion as war reparations, half was provided, half of the pow’s were released including John McCain. The last half was never given, the remaining pow’s were apparently abandoned.

Why have these men been left abandoned all these years? Politicians are apparently hoping time will take care of the problem and it probably has, unfortunately, in many cases. The government has done everything it can, not, to bring them home. We have been and are shoveling out money like it was rain from Heaven but not one cent to complete the deal made way back then and to see to it that all remaining POW’s are returned and families finally have closure. Even if there is only one left we owe it to him to bring him home. A good book to read on this is “An Enormous Crime” By Bill Hendon, William Martin Hendon, Elizabeth A. Stewart.

Thank God there are some out there like Congressman Bob Dornan, Bill Dumas, http://www.billdumas.com/ and the American Legion acting on the behalf of our Nation’s POW’s and MIA’s.

This is important and requires research and interaction by us all to bring this injustice against our nations hero’s to an end.
