Salinas Californian Fairness Revisited

The "Fairness Doctrine" is on show on The Salinas Californian website for all to see. George Watkins, who is a sports writer, and a terribly poor one at that, is working on assembling the world's lowest quality string of blog posts ever made on the Internet. He's obviously doing this to make sure that anyone who does not meet his standard of liberal "fairness" is promptly thrust from the public eye when we hit the paper's Website. This situation is certainly what will happen when the Democrats like Nancy Pelosi succeed in putting "fair" programming practices in place on our radio and television stations around the nation. People like this George Watkins will sign up to spew useless junk speech up and down the airwaves simply to irritate rational thinking people, and prevent us from ever turning to the stations again. Once the other side starts doing it on the liberal stations they will most likely get insulted directly, maligned with false remarks by the pundits, and generally run off of the airwaves there as well. What we have here is a major social breakdown. No forum is safe from ignorant saps who think they can plead ignorance while usurping the rights of others to have an opportunity to express their first amendment rights.

George Watkins

I’ve had my problems with his ever present readiness to fill the available spaces on the Internet version of the Californian. His sports section will not contain him, he encroaches into that area set aside for the public. Sometimes he will place two or three posts at a time besides what he has in his own sports section. I’ve called the Californian and I’ve emailed the Online Editor complaining about it but to no avail. A couple of times I had to copy my post then delete it, wait a few minutes then repost it. This should not be necessary, the posting area is for the public not an added sandbox for Watkins to play in. You, Josie, myself and lots of others have important items to share with the public but because of him that is often not possible.

EGAD....I am glad I deleted my account with the Salinas CA'n. It seems that everytime Gordon posted anything, he'd post his garbage. Figures!
