When I was a kids I ate everything. Breakfast : bacon & eggs, toast & peanut butter, fried potatoes and co-co; Dinner : Italian Sandwiches or the like and Coke or Pepsi ; Supper : always big. That wasn’t unique, everyone I new ate that way, it was common. In between those meals we were constantly on the go. We played tag, made up war games, cowboys and Indians, played all sorts of sports, I remember my mother would often have to call me in for supper. Then there was going to the lake to swim, the Tarzan rope was especially fun; there was fishing and hunting and keeping our gear ready, there was always something to keep us busy. You will notice I haven’t mentioned television, that was a second or third thought, I didn‘t know what a television was until I was 7 years old. Everyone within walking distance of school, 2-3 miles, walked even during snow and sleet, try seeing that today.
