Answering An Email
I received an email from someone with questions about the election, that at this stage of the game, I found distressing. Some of the questions had to do with intolerance, accusations and the Constitution. I attempted to answer in the following way.
The problem is the Constitution, in many respects, is not being followed, Judges legislate from the bench, candidates such as B. O. refer to it as an impediment, an obstacle in need of revision.
Those that do not follow the Constitution, those that listen to and preach hate America rhetoric, those that adhere to socialistic/communist philosophies are a danger to America.
Joseph Story said, "There is little need of commentary upon this clause. No man can well doubt the propriety of placing a president of the United States under the most solemn obligations to preserve, protect, and defend the constitution. It is a suitable pledge of his fidelity and responsibility to his country; and creates upon his conscience a deep sense of duty, by an appeal, at once in the presence of God and man, to the most sacred and solemn sanctions, which can operate upon the human mind."
B. O. feels the Constitution is an impediment, how can he preserve, protect, and defend what he considers an impediment?
I am extremely intolerant of socialist/hate America groups spreading their failed philosophies throughout our country and our colleges by so-called professors like, Bill Ayres, filling the heads of the students with nonsense. The opposite of socialism is freedom and this country has no business experimenting in the arena of socialistic ideas. Everything that B. O. has said indicates that he is a socialist. He believes in Marxism, for instance “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” Obama wants to spread the wealth around. First he was going to tax those making $250,000 a year, now it’s down to $150,000. Last year he advocated taxing those who made $42,000 a year. Businesses and corporations do not pay taxes, they pass it on to the consumer, but sadly people don’t seem to understand that. I agree with Mark La Vin when he said “Extremism in pursuit of Constitutionalism is no vise,”
There are 'absolutes' in our society, they are the Constitution, The Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights; isn’t it sad that B. O. thinks that such things are an impediment, why should people in this country be tolerant of anyone or any group who have no respect for these?
If what is said about an opponents is true, is factual, then where is the evil? Politics is a war of ideas, when someone enters that arena he must do so with the intention to win, not win by lies and deceit but by shining the light of truth on everything pertinent to his opponent, otherwise he enters the fight with one hand tied behind him.
The trouble with so many in office today is that they don’t understand that the history of liberty is the history of the limitation of government, not the increase of it. If you thought you saw government grow under Pres. Bush just wait and see, God forbid, what B. O. and his pathetic group will do.
Look what has been going on in the background for B. O., Acorn, the homeless in Ohio being allowed to vote having no address to place on the registration form, the relentless attack on “Joe the Plummer,” an innocent citizen who had the nerve to ask a pertinent question, expand that to any of us should B. O. gain the presidency. Ronald Reagan said, "A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, simply to swell its ranks."

In my opinion many liberals in our government are treasonous by the things they say about our country while on foreign soil, their disrespect for the values of this country and what has made this the greatest country on earth, the dumbing down of our young in the public, government run, schools, are a few inexcusable examples that will, in time, bring down our country.

Where Have All The Questions Gone?
In all this rhetoric that is going on today no one has brought up the redistribution of wealth plan i e. Karl Marx, whose maxim declared, “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.”

There has not been one question asked of either candidate of his position on immigration and how we are going to deal with the burden of those who are currently here and more coming everyday. A nation that cannot control its borders (boarders) will not long last as a nation.
Both candidates have their problems, especially B. O. who has a resume as thin as tissue paper and a character collaboration list that smells to high heaven; McCain’s problem is his constant desire to reach across the aisle in bipartisanship, bipartisanship is just like liberalism. It's a gutless choice. People want him to stand on principles, not water them down by the constant reaching across the aisle that he constantly holds claim to in pride.
A good question asked by Rush Limbaugh concerning B. O; "What kind of man makes friends with domestic terrorists? What kind of a man sits in the pews of a church where his preacher spews hate about his own country -- for Jews, for whites, for blacks who don't agree with him? Do you want such a man representing your country as president of the United States? This is why we cannot elect Barack Obama president.
" Nothing has been brought up about the poor quality of education in this country. Take time to consider what the kids are being taught in our schools today then compare that with the quality of education that was offered back in the 60’s and beyond. Yes technology is constantly changing and what kid doesn’t know how to roll out of bed and place a cell phone to their ear, but what else? They have no incentive to read, to go to libraries and do diligent research, the books that are used in our school system has removed much, if not almost everything, about what has made this country the greatest country on the face of the earth. In the last 40 plus years the curriculum has been steadily eroded. On the Sean Hannity “Man On The Street” interviews it is alarming how ignorant those that are interviewed really are, college students with absolutely nothing going on between their ears, college students taught by liberal professors who teach as though they have nothing but distain for this country and go about teaching it to their students with malice, the students lap it up. They “feel” rather than “think” their way through political issues, and the consequences for future generations of Americans are dire. Where are the parents in this picture? Why are such teachers being allowed around their kids, a perfect case example is Bill Ayers. Ronald Reagan said it best. “It is freedom itself that still hangs in the balance, and freedom is never more than one generation from extinction.”

None of you are bringing up the fact that B. O. has a middle name that has been placed off limits; why has it been placed off limits? Why isn’t anyone asking?
No one seems to remember that B. O. spent twenty years under the tutelage of Rev. Wright (Wrong.), or seem to remember the comments of B. H. O‘s. wife when she brought up how she has never been proud of this country. As Samuel Adams said, “The public cannot be too curious concerning the characters of public men,.” in this case men and women.
How about the question of our right to keep and bear arms; who has brought that up as a question to either candidate, especially B. O., remember his comment about people clinging to their Bibles and their guns?
Remember, “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclination, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.”
What about questions concerning the most secret, yet most out in the open thing that is happening to us that concerns the agenda to create a North American Union, effectively erasing our borders with both Mexico and Canada? Doesn’t anyone remember any of this?
The price of gasoline has been coming down, although it is still incredibly high compared to what it was not that long ago. Now in the news there is talk about cutting back production; where are the questions? Where is the outrage? We could be producing more, but Congress has put large areas of potential supply off-limits. These include the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and parts of Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. By government estimates, these areas may contain 25-30 billion barrels of oil (against about 30 billion of proven U.S. reserves today) and 80 trillion cubic feet or more of natural gas (compared with about 200 tcf of proven reserves)."What keeps these areas closed are exaggerated environmental fears, strong prejudice against oil companies and sheer stupidity."
What about asking questions and getting answers about socialized medicine, its costs and affects. People from other countries come here for treatment, if we, as a country, revert to their pathetic system where will we go when we need care? Ronald Reagan said, “Realize that the doctor’s fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can’t socialize the doctors without socializing the patients. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients, or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he’ll eat you last.”
Why aren’t there more questions concerning the tax and spend measures B. O. has in mind? Barney Frank said more taxes are needed and there should be more spending. What kind of a crippled mind would come up with that and yet there is so little being said or asked about it.
Have any of you thought about the kind of baggage that B. O. would bring with him, the kind of judges he would appoint? Where are the questions? Where is the concern?
Are all your memories so short that you have forgotten the following? “An opportunity society awaits us. We need only believe in ourselves and give men and women of faith, courage, and vision the freedom to build it. Let others run down America and seek to punish success. Let them call you greedy for not wanting government to take more and more of your earnings. Let them defend their tombstone society of wage and price guidelines, mandatory quotas, tax increases, planned shortages, and shared sacrifices. We want no part of that mess, thank you very much. We will encourage all Americans—men and women, young and old, individuals of every race, creed, and color—to succeed and be healthy, happy, and whole. This is our goal. There have not been any questions about the “Fairness Doctrine;” will it be pursued and what affect it will have on talk radio and free speech?
Remember we have a right to ask any candidate about his understanding of the problems facing us, his acceptance of responsibility for solving those problems, and what his approach to handling the problems will be.
I can’t believe it, I have come up with two more very important question that no one, not even the alphabet news outlets are asking or will ever ask. It has to do with B. O’s. birth certificate and the law suit against him and the D. N. C. to provide proof, unquestionable proof that he, B. O. is a natural born citizen and also his qualifications.

O. wins Israel will have no choice but to strike while President Bush is still at the helm. Israel knows that B. O. will cast them aside.
Then is everyone ready for whatever B. O. does as far as Iraq is concerned? Everything he says states that he will withdraw our troops precipitously even if it means in dishonor.
Then there is the little matter that involves “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” Is everyone really ready for that?

New Hampshire


New Hampshire is no doubt a beautiful state, some would argue the prettiest, I’m biased but each state has its own natural beauty, but I believe New Hampshire has to be in the top ten. New Hampshire is not a tremendously big state so it’s easy to drive the length and breadth of it but if you take time to take in all the areas of beauty it could take you weeks.
The coastal areas with the great waves crashing sometimes with a thunderous roar, the birds, the beaches. How beautiful it is to go to the beach with friends and just kick back, poor on the suntan lotion, get a tan and enjoy the water. I always come away with a bad sunburn, I guess I never learn.
Driving up the country roads takes you past lakes, rivers and brooks to numerous to mention, each with its own significance, its own beauty and history. What a wonder it is for those who love to fish, there’s nothing like it. I remember stopping at brooks going after a trout; I don’t know who fared better, me or the mosquitoes? I remember taking a breath and choked because of all the mosquitoes I inhaled, sounds ghastly doesn‘t it; but I had fun.
The natural wonders that take your breath away, the unique areas that capture your attention are what makes New Hampshire what it is. The covered bridges, so very rare, so hard to find. My family and I stopped at one covered bridge and had a picnic lunch, we wanted our sons to have time to take it all in, to have something to remember.
The beautiful lakes, the taste of the water, the very feel of it against your skin. I use to love going to Milton Three Ponds, get there early and spend the whole day just having fun. There was another lake in the Milton area, I can’t think of the name of it but people would park their cars along the side of the road, get into their swim trunks and dive in, there was also a Tarzan rope hanging from a limb to swing yourself out into the lake. Afterwards people would get changed and hang their swimming trunks over the cars antenna to dry on the way home. For some the antenna was the only place they kept their trunks, they were always ready for that next opportunity.
The New Hampshire mountains are truly splendiferous, the clouds that cover their peaks, the beautiful trees that cover them. Have any of you ever went into a forested area of White Birch and just laid down on the forest floor and listened to the silence? I have, it will stay with you a lifetime. From summer to winter it is a wonderland.
The leaves that turn in the fall are a wonder that enthralls people from all over and compels them to come, their senses try to take it all in, but how is that possible? Some just stand in awe, others take pictures, while others try to capture it on canvas, but no matter how you try it is impossible, the wonder of it all is constantly changing.
The seasons are full of fascination, each leading into the other, the spring with the budding of the leaves, the March winds, April showers. I love the winter and look forward to waking up to the first snow of the year, a pure white blanket, untouched, unspoiled. I grew up in the country, on the boarder between Union and Milton. As a boy my brothers and sisters and I would walk out onto the porch and brake off the icicles and eat them like a treat, of course now that wouldn‘t be recommended but back then it was fun and part of winter. I use to have loads of fun on my sled running and jumping on it going down a hill. As I was growing up we lived at 14 Pine St., Portsmouth, just down the road from New Franklin School which I attended. The hill on the next street, I believe Start St. was a source of great entertainment for many of us. We would each take turns playing traffic cop at the bottom of the hill at Clinton and Stark Sts. while the rest of us came sliding down and across the street at the bottom into the thick snow to bring us to a stop, what a wonderful and exhilarating way to spend the day, no television just pure unadulterated fun.
I don’t think there is a better sound then walking through the snow in boots with a deep tread, I use to were the ones that are sort of olive colored and tied at the top; what a sound they made, crunch, crunch, beautiful.
Lets not forget the people, I don’t mean those who have migrated to New Hampshire, I mean those with years here, those whose families have a history here, the way they speak, so unique, so genuine, so unmistakable, a way of speaking that shouts where your home is, where your heart is. In the north country they refer to everyone else as flatlanders, a unique term that speaks volumes. It tells of different life styles, different interest, a different pace of life. Regardless, whether flatlander or not, this is our state, New Hampshire. The danger comes from listening to and allowing those who aren’t native to influence the rest of us, if we continue to allow this then everything that makes New Hampshire what it is will be lost to the dustbin of history.
A side note. How many of you have stopped at Gilleys in Portsmouth? How many remember how he use to park the trailer at the corner in Market Square and the police give him a ticket every night before placing their order? http://www.gilleyspmlunch.com/
He was the best, and the place, although moved to a stationary spot, is still going strong, this along with so much else makes us who we are.
After careful thought and consideration I must change my mind, New Hampshire must be placed at the top of the list.

Sandwich Fair

It has been years sense my wife and I have been to the fair. My brother Bernard use to be the Chief of Police up there, he was always very busy that day from dawn till dark. It was fun having a brother that was the Chief of Police. He earned the position, he was extremely qualified and a Korean War Vet as well, he was a survivor of the battle at the Chosin Reservoir, a freezing cold, miserable, bloody battle where they were extremely outnumbered.
When I was a kid my brothers and I would never miss Sandwich Fair, it use to be a one day affair on October 12th. ending in fireworks, now it goes on for three days, it was the highlight of the year. In fact I would tell my teachers not to expect me in class, they would have to struggle through without my contributory excellence because being at the fair was far more important then being in school. I remember in High School at Portsmouth High, I was in English and my teachers name was Mr. Grogan, what a great guy he was, he even gave his time to teach track after school, anyway, I’m getting sidetracked. He told the class that he needed a 100% attendance so as to prepare for a big upcoming test. I put my hand up and said Mr. Grogan you know better then to expect me to be in class on Columbus Day, you know I’ll be at the fair. He just looked at me in astonishment, but he knew, we had talked together about the fair a few days before. Thank God he was an understanding teacher.
I would be there at opening ready for any kind of action. I remember standing in line to get a glass of hard cider, to me that was the best thing ever. As I recall I spent a great deal of time in that line. Then my brother and I made the mistake of the day when we bought some red died hotdogs, we found out later just how big a mistake it was, we both became so sick that on the way home we had to stop along the side of the road and run into the trees to heave our stomachs out. On the way home we stopped at a dinner and ordered up some Alker Seltzer. Neither of us have ever had one of those red died hotdogs sense.
I use to love to watch the horse pulling contest, what incredible animals they were. Then the hogs, they were enormous. The food contests were fun to, sometimes we got to bring some home with us and the girls, the place was crawling with them.
My older brother, Dean, would compete in the log cutting contest where he would stand on top of this big ol’ log and using a double bladed axe, you could shave with, bring it down between his legs, and for what I thought, one slip and there goes your leg, but no one ever got hurt and my brother would win from time to time. There was also the pole cutting contest to drop a pole onto a wedge and drive it into the ground, he won a lot of those as well. When he wasn’t doing that he would be plucking away at one of his musical instruments with his wife Phyllis.
The food, not the red hotdogs, the contest, the huge animals, the friends to have fun with and the fireworks at night made it a wonderful event. A lot has probably changed by now but one day I’ll return with my wife and we will relive once again, those great days of years past.

Forgotten Policies of President Ronald Reagan

There are many, shockingly, that have forgotten, or have been just so blinded by the scabs of socialist liberalism over their eyes and minds that everything President Reagan said, stood for and fought for has eluded them. I hear and read remarks about his failed economic policies; those who say such things are incredibly backwards, naïve and short sighted in their thinking.
The policies laid down and set into motion by President Reagan saved this nation, defeated communism, and gave this nation a new respectability in the world. For those of you who have forgotten or just ignored what he had to say I have provided a few things for you to read and think about. If we listened to the words of President Reagan we would not be in the situation we are in today, there is still time to turn back from our disastrous socialist heading and return to the ideals of this great President.

There was a time, not so long ago, when the Soviet Union was a real competitor with the United States. There was a time when many weren't quite sure whether a free market or totalitarian economic control was the best way to go. And even more disturbing, there was a time when that largely economic dispute found its expression in nuclear warheads aimed at nearly every major urban center in the world.
It was President Reagan who had the vision to see that Communist Socialism was doomed to failure, and it was Reagan who had the leadership ability necessary to instill that vision in others. At a time when Communism was competing for economic dominance, Reagan inherited an American economy in disarray -- an economy suffering from high inflation and unemployment. In the political climate of the day, many were clamoring for greater government involvement in the economy. But instead of capitulating to the principles of Socialism in the short term, Reagan resolutely stood against artificial inflation and higher taxes. Anticipating the inevitable self-destruction of Communism, he pursued greater economic productivity in America. He lowered taxes, encouraging work and investment, and he worked to get the government out of the economy in general. Free trade, deregulation, and less government restrictions on businesses all contributed to greater production of goods and services.
Ultimately, it was the superior productivity of the market economy -- productivity helped along by Reagan's economic policies -- that ushered Communism down the path toward resounding defeat. Barack Hussein Obama
Almost everything B. O. says smacks of socialism, for instance, healthcare, he said is a right; government mandated healthcare is socialism, weather it comes from the likes of a B. O. or Hillary Clinton when she tried it behind closed doors.
The mere fact that B. O. is, in my opinion, a total socialist, borderline communist and he has managed to get this close to the Presidency scares me to death. What scares me even more is that he is there because of the number of people in this country that have continually promoted him. What has happened to my country? There is still even a question of his U. S. citizenship. That is being investigated by Philip J. Berg, Attorney, and Jerome Corsi who also went to Kenya to do research on B. O. and his connection with Odinga.

Is socialism with all its contemptible inadequateness what you really want to hand over into the hands of your children and grandchildren, or do you want to hand over into their hands all the greatness that this country and our Capitalist system, through a Representative Government, can be?
It’s time for the people backing Barack Hussein Obama to wake up or we may all be drawn into a nightmare this country may never recover from.

America's Weakness

America is weakening through the divisions of its most important characteristics. Look at the bastardization of our educational system, the kids can’t write, their comprehension and output levels are far from praise worthy, oh they can play games on a computer and they can text all the day long but their ability in these areas is only equaled by their ignorance in everything else. How many of you have looked into what your kids are being taught, or I should ask, what they are not being taught?
Look at our national language, the English language has always been one of our great strengths, now it is becoming more and more in jeopardy. The degradation of our language is taking place at an alarming rate everyday. Sometimes when I think about the liberals and their socialist endeavors I see this country becoming like the Tower of Babel where no one can understand anyone else’s speech; like the t. v. commercial of the patient speaking to his psychiatrist and the psychiatrist looks at his watch and responds in a foreign language, it doesn’t make sense and neither is what this country is allowing to happen on a continuing basis with our language. Our language corruption is only equaled by the ever increasing loss of our heritage and way of life.
Does pushing one for English instill wrath within you? It should. Look at our ballots , DMV booklets, the additional cost to us all not only in dollars and cents but in everything that made this country what it was. At one time to become a citizen of this country a person had to educate himself in what makes this country work, our systems of government and at least have a rudimentary understanding and ability to speak English and conduct business in our English language. Now all anyone has to do is walk, swim or crawl across the boarder, allow enough time and some fool politician will eventually provide amnesty, in the meantime that person hasn’t had to do a damn thing to become a citizen that is proud of his country. How does it make you feel when you see some jacka** driving down the road with a Mexican flag flying on his car? Try flying a U. S. Flag on your car in Mexico.
How does it make you feel when you drive into areas of your city and you can’t read the signs on the storefronts? Does it infuriate you? It should.
How does it make you feel to have to put up with Mexican Independence Day festivities in this country? Tell me, can we celebrate the 4th. of July, in like manner, in Mexico? Does it make you want to scream with anger? It should.
How does it make you feel when you hear people, whose origin is from another country, refer to themselves first as that-American?

All these things that I have brought up should want to make you spit from the disgusting taste they leave in your mouth.
I have observed that the American People are slipping from Capitalism to Communism, our people and elected leaders are being assisted in the gradual ever forward motion towards this end in small doses of Socialism. One day we will all awaken to find Capitalism dead, our way of life gone, everything our military and patriots throughout this country have fought to maintain gone, and for what? Communism.
If you don’t demand correction in the path this country is going down it will get much worse and someday we’ll sit down with our grandchildren in what then has become a miserable third world country and have to explain to them how we, as a people, allowed this great country, the United States of America, think about those words and what they mean, to fall from the greatest country on the face of the earth to an embarrassing, weak, humiliating nothing of a country. Explain to them why we have become the joke of the entire world. When you look into the mirror and ask yourself how did this happen you will be looking at the answer.

This Countries Future
Sarah Palin, what a breath of fresh air she is. You listen to the typical politicians in Washington and you have to decipher what they said, what they meant, filter out the lies. Listening to Gov. Sarah Palin none of that is the case. She is natural, she is likeable, she says it the way it is and is in command of the facts. She brought up how Biden was against many of the things Obama was spouting and how he even said he would be willing to be V. P. with John McCain before being tagged by Obama.
She stood her ground against Joe Biden with all his years in Washington and caught him on inaccuracies in his statements such as the rope line comment. I loved it when she said, "Say it ain't so, Joe."
Some may say she, the Governor of the State of Alaska is not ready to be President should anything happen to John McCain. I’m amused by that considering these same people are saying the reverse of B. O. who has spent most of his first term as Senator campaigning to be President. He has the thinnest résumé of anyone in the history of this country that has ever run for the presidency. He is friends with domestic terrorists, Weather Underground domestic terrorists, Bill Ayers. For twenty years he has sat in a church pew listening to hate speech directed at this country from Rev. Wright who has a long history of what even Obama's campaign aides concede is "inflammatory rhetoric," including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own "terrorism." Remember how he said “No, no, no, God damn America?” This same Rev. Wright married Obama and his wife Michelle, baptized their two daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope."
B. O. has nothing in his background to prepare him for the presidency, the only thing he can point to, that he can claim, is being a community organizer, whoopee, now that’s impressive. The followers of B. O. are willing to let him play out his ideas without the benefit of skills, talent, ability, background or experience.
This country can not afford anyone with his incredible lack of ability and naiveté stepping into the presidency. If you care about yourself, if you care about your children, your grandchildren, your country, you can not allow the likes of Barack Hussein Obama to ever get that close to the Office of the President. Should he gain such a position the things he espouses to stand for would be a slap in the face of everyone who has ever served in the military, to every patriot in this country
If allowed, B. O. and his liberal allies will follow their own preconceived ideas and we will end up with a nightmare. We can’t afford to be that blind.
Governor Palin has more executive experience then Joe Biden, John McCain and the empty suit B. O. put together and yet there are those who say she isn’t ready for prime time but B. O. is; absolutely incredible. Barack Obama’s statements are nothing more then stupidity with a graduate degree, he has nothing to offer but an empty suit.
Remember the blindest are those who keep their eyes shut.
